Overview

The 8020REI platform allows you to edit and preserve the property owner's name for better organization, follow-up, and personalization—without losing sight of the original data.


How It Works

  • We store the original owner name as received from our data sources.

  •  If you manually update the owner's first or last name in the system, your changes are saved and displayed.

  • On each monthly data refresh:

    • If there are no updates to the owner's name from our source, your edited version remains visible.

    • If the owner's name does change, we will display the new version but retain your previous edits in the background for reference.


Why This Matters

  • Personalization: Use corrected or preferred names when sending mail or following up.

  • Context Retention: Keep track of name corrections over time (e.g., legal name changes, ownership transfers).

  • Clarity: Avoid confusion when the original name data is incomplete or inconsistent.


Best Practice

If you notice:

  • Typos in the original name

  • A missing first or last name

  • An abbreviation you want to expand

Feel free to make the edit. The system will track your change and ensure it continues to display even through future list updates.
