Export configurations in 8020REI allow you to define exactly which property data fields you want to include when generating an export file and in what order. This is ideal for skip tracing, marketing campaigns, reporting, and working with vendors.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open the Configuration Panel
- Go to the Properties section in your domain.
- Navigate to the Export Property module.
- Click the “Configuration” tab at the top.
2. Create a New Configuration
- From the dropdown, select:New Configuration
3. Name Your Configuration
Use a clear and specific name that describes the export's purpose.Examples:
- “Skip Trace Format – April”
- “Direct Mail Export – No Owner Name”
- “Weekly Status Report – Campaign A”
4. Select the Fields to Export
- Browse the field list and click to select the data points you want to include.
- Selected fields will appear in the right-hand panel.
The order of selected fields will define the column order in your exported file.
Fixed Field Positioning
Regardless of where you place them, the following fields will always appear at the end of your export:
- Targeted Messages
- Targeted Groups
- Numbers
This ensures those marketing-related fields are grouped for better compatibility with communication platforms.
Reordering Fields
To change the column order:
- Hover your cursor over a field in the right-hand panel
- Click and drag to reposition
- The top field becomes Column A, the next Column B, and so on
5. Save Your Configuration
Once you've selected and arranged all fields, click:
Save Your export configuration will now be available for reuse during any full export process.
One-Time Export vs. Saved Configuration
| One-Time Export | Saved Export Configuration |
|---|---|
| Requires manual field selection each time | Reusable setup available from the dropdown |
| Slower for recurring tasks | Ideal for repeat use: skip tracing, mail, etc. |
To use a saved configuration, simply select it from the dropdown when exporting your list.

Technical Notes
- Fields like “Numbers” and “Groups” may contain multiple values separated by commas. This is normal and reflects communication history or segmentation.
- Ensure your export file format aligns with the requirements of any third-party platforms (e.g., Launch Control, Salesforce, direct mail vendors).
We recommend running a small test export to validate field structure before uploading large lists to external tools.
Can I Edit a Configuration Later?
Yes! You can:
- Rename
- Reorder fields
- Add/remove fields
- Delete configurations …directly from the Configuration tab — no need to start over.
