This guide explains how to update your domain with skip traced data, including new phone numbers, email addresses, distress tags, and contact metadata. Keeping this information current improves your outreach accuracy and marketing effectiveness.
When to Use This
Use this process when:
You’ve received new contact data from a skip tracing service
You want to assign new phone numbers or emails to existing properties
You need to tag properties as "Skiptraced" to track data enhancements
Required Information
Prepare the following fields for each property:

Property Address | Full street address |
Zip Code | 5-digit ZIP code |
Phone Number(s) | One or more phone numbers per property |
Phone Type | Optional: e.g., Mobile, Landline, VOIP |
Email | Optional email address (if available) |
Distress | Optional distress indicators (e.g., Absentee) |

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the CSV File
Create an Excel file with the required columns
Enter the updated data from your skip trace results
Include multiple numbers or emails as needed per row
Add a column for
Tag
and enter:Save the file as a .CSV
2. Import the File
Log into the client’s domain
Navigate to Properties → Import Property
Click “Import File”
Select your skip trace update file and upload
3. System Matching and Updates
8020REI will:
Match each row using Property Address + ZIP Code
Add or update contact data (phones, emails)
Apply the
Skiptraced
tag to each matched recordAssign distress tags if provided
How to Verify the Update
After import, go to Properties
Use the Filter panel to apply:
Tag = Skiptraced
Or filter by
Phone Number is not blank
This will help you confirm the import worked and view which contacts were updated.
Important Notes
If a property can’t be matched using address and ZIP, it will be skipped
Be sure phone numbers are formatted properly (avoid dashes, use numeric only)
Only include columns you intend to update — extra fields may cause import issues
If multiple phone numbers are added, each will be shown as a separate entry in the property profile
