At 8020REI, we understand that your data is most valuable when it’s moving exactly where you need it. To help you streamline your workflow and connect your investment data with the rest of your tech stack, we offer two powerful features: API Tokens and Auto-Export.

This guide will explain how these features work and how you can use them to save time and keep your CRM or team updated automatically.

What are API Tokens?

API Tokens act as a "secure key" that allows 8020REI to talk directly to your other software tools (like a CRM or a custom dashboard). Instead of manually moving data, an API token provides a safe, authorized bridge for your systems to sync information automatically.

Why use them?

  • Seamless Integration: Connect 8020REI directly to your preferred CRM.

  • Enhanced Security: You control the name, description, and expiration date of every "key" you create.

  • Full Control: Easily view when a token was last used or revoke access at any time.

How to create a Token:

  1. Navigate to Integrations in your main menu.

  2. Select API Tokens.

  3. Click Create Token.

  4. Give your token a Name (e.g., "Company CRM Connection") and an Expiration Date.

  5. (Optional) Add a Description for your records.

  6. Once created, Copy your token immediately. For security reasons, this is the only time you will see the full code.

Note: For technical setup, click View API Token Documentation on the token page to access the instructions your developer or IT team will need to complete the connection.

What is Auto-Export?

Auto-Export allows you to schedule automatic email deliveries of your property lists. Instead of logging in to manually download a CSV, 8020REI will bundle your data and send it directly to your inbox (or your team's) on a recurring schedule.

Why use it?

  • Hands-off Updates: Get fresh leads or property updates delivered while you sleep.

  • Team Alignment: Automatically send updated lists to your acquisition managers or cold callers.

  • Flexible Reporting: Choose to receive your entire list every time or only the new properties added since the last export.

How to set up an Auto-Export:

  1. Go to your Properties or Views page.

  2. Click the Actions button and select Auto-Export (you can also find this within the options of any specific saved view).

  3. Follow the setup wizard to configure your preferences:

    • Select a View: Choose which list of properties you want to export.

    • Frequency: Decide how often you want to receive the files.

    • Recipients: Add the email addresses of anyone who should receive the list.

    • Data Rules: Choose "All properties" or "Only new properties added since the last export."

  4. Save your configuration.

Managing Your Data Flow

Once your exports are running, you can manage them via two helpful tabs in the Auto-Export menu:

  • Configurations: Review your active schedules, see a summary of your settings, and quickly download the most recent file.

  • Logs: Access a full historical record of every export that has ever been sent for your account.

Best Practices

  • Security First: Never share your API tokens in public forums or with unauthorized personnel.

  • Start Broad: Remember that the first Auto-Export will always include all properties in your selected view to ensure you have a complete baseline.

  • Stay Organized: Use clear names for your API tokens and Auto-Export configurations so you can easily identify them as your business grows.
