Key point — "Others" is a catch-all category for properties that fall outside standard classifications (Single-Family, Multifamily, Land, Commercial). Most residential investors should exclude it from marketing lists unless targeting niche asset classes.
What Falls Under "Others"
- Industrial/utility: Factories, power plants, water treatment facilities
- Transportation: Railroads, pipelines, airports, roads
- Government/public service: Hospitals, police/fire stations, prisons
- Unique-use: Zoos, monuments, military facilities
- Agricultural/natural resources: Farms, forestry land, oil/gas properties
- Uncoded parcels: Misclassified or untyped records in county data
Recommended Action
Exclude "Others" from your filters unless your strategy specifically targets industrial, agricultural, or public-use assets. Including them can skew lead scoring, inflate list size with non-target properties, and waste marketing spend.
If you see an unusually high count of "Others" in your list, contact your Customer Success Manager to refine your BuyBox filters or data import rules.
